Over the last year(s) quite some new graphics were added. Like the new portrait graphics and some new Vidcom graphics, like recently done for the Danger events.

Above we see a few examples you might recognize from in-game. These are all used for the Danger events. And yes they are AI assisted images. I noticed some discussion about this in the various forums for SE… So: time for a poll!
Note there are 3 questions this time, so don’t forget to scroll down and to select an option and press vote for each individual poll.
Thanks you for your time! Its appreciated. Just remember that VR takes serious note of community preferences but that final decisions are always based on more factors than solely majority sentiment :)
Best wishes,
Vic

Hello,
I love SE, and especially appreciate the very strong atmosphere you created there – it’s so special and unique that very few other media (games, films, books, etc.) could compare to that. It’s Scifi at its best – thank you very much!
So please keep this in mind when I will express some critique as a professional visual artist. Kudos that you are experimenting how to improve visuals, but both current and your suggested new graphics do not fall in line with your created in-game atmosphere. My friends also share similar opinion. I have three suggestions:
1) When I have to create something special I choose appropriate music for the mood. In your case you already have absolutely brilliant soundtrack – just put it on, look at the graphics, and think if it goes together (they don’t)
2) SE is many things (which is amazing!) but the mood possibly could be described as: post-apocalypse, exploration, loneliness, survival and salvaging, somehow idyllic, mystery, more. I think there 2 games that express this visually well: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (best candidate) and Fallout series. I think the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. devs even could collaborate with you?
3) Your moodboard drawings are truly great. Did you try to feed them into AI for adding colours and details? Might work
Thank you very much for Shadow Empires once again – we will keep playing and supporting you!
I’m perfectly fine with using AI, but these look like screenshots from a budget Bulgarian FPS game circa 2004.
More abstraction and less realism would probably work better. More oil painting, less Blender v0.0.4.
