You arrive here once you have pressed the 'load library' buttton in the library tab of the simple editor.
In general it informs you of key data of the library (name, version) and if you are reloading the library or not.
Depending on the kind of library you are loading you have to make some further specifications before the (re)load can proceed.
1.
What ever you are trying to do. You have to confirm it by flagging this button here.
2.
If you are reloading a library make sure the engine is overwriting the correct library. If not you can change it here.
Make sure to only overwrite if you are actually using a newer version of the same library or the same library. Don't try any foolish like overwriting an event library with a historical library. The system is breakable.
3.
Press the 'import' button to actually go ahead and (re)load the selected library.
Here you have to specify 2 extra things.
First of all. All historical units and models in the library will have to be imported into the scenario to belong to 1 regime. You set this by using the first change button next to the regime list box.
Secondly a historical unit library always contains some people's. You have the choice of either importing the people or substitute them.
Subtituting means that anything set to a specific people in the library you are importing will be changed to the already existing people in your scenario (the people you are subsituting them with).
All officers will have to be imported into the senario to belong to 1 regime and to 1 people.
You configure which regime and people by chosing them using the 2 change buttons (like in the screenshot above).
Historical unit libraries have TroopType libraries as dependencies. Officer libraries can have officer card libraries as dependencies. If you are attempting to load a library whose dependency is not present you will be warned of this and the loading will be blocked. If this happens cancel the operation and load the dependency first before resuming.
For example Elmo had created the basics for a scenario on Smolensk. He was re-using the libraries from the Volkov scenario. Then when having placed all units he realised there were no models for OKH for example. So he modified the VolkovGermanModels library by adding models for OKH and PG. He named this library SmolenskModels. To load the SmolenskModels correctly he has to the following:
* Make sure you substitute the correct library
* Make also sure you subtitute the correct peoples ( you do not want to have doubles )
In this example why would I not just have the SmolenskModels and VolkovModels libraries loaded?
In general its not a good idea to have multiple libraries with identical models hanging around since it would clutter for example your lists of TOEs available with redundant copies. Or in other words in several places like OOB and NEW UNIT ORDER it would look ugly and unpolished to the player.
