Small General : Eastern Front manual : Game in a nutshell
Welcome
Fist of all a warm welcome to Small General.
If this is your first Small General game you should read the entire manual.
If you already played a previous Small General game I think you should be ready to jump right in
and only read the Eastern Front chapter of this manual.
Sides
You play either the German side or the Soviet side.
There are a number of scenarios you can play.
Some are quite big and have a lot of units compared to the original (previous) Small General game.
Production
Always you own a number of towns (that are Victory Points (VPs)) and units. Each town gives you 1-3 Victory Points and a number of production points.
These production points can be used to buy new units or upgrade old ones. Usually you also get some extra production points (from off-map areas). Furthermore the construction of some
units requires raw materials. These raw materials you will collect from mines on the map and/or off-map production.
Move and Attack
You can move your units to capture terrain and battle enemy units. After moving all your units you press the end turn button so the other player can move. For moving mechanized units you'll also need oil points.
These oil points will be collected from oil wells that are on the map and/or off-map production. In most scenarios both sides have some strategic transfer points that can be used to move a unit from one place on
the map to any other hex (this simulates railroad movement).
Victory
Both players move and attack untill victory is attained by one of the players or if the scenario reaches its final date.
The player that manages to conquer a specifc number of Victory Points or the player that manages to hold on till the end of the scenario attains victory.
